A 16-year-old Canaseraga teen died when a truck plowed into several trees in the Town of Ossian Sunday morning.
Connor Gilbert, 16, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on White Road, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office said. The driver, identified as Nathan Poddany, 18, also of Canaseraga, Allegany County, suffered serious injuries and was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, in a Lifenet helicopter. The crash was reported at 8:14 a.m..
Rescuers from Canaseraga used hydraulic tools to free both victims from the wreckage. An investigation is under way.
