All but one of the post offices in the Buffalo area will close at noon Monday, Christmas Eve, local U.S. Postal Service spokeswoman Karen Mazurkiewicz announced.
The exception is the Cayuga Branch at 285 Cayuga Road, Cheektowaga, which will stay open until 3 p.m.
Regular mail delivery and pickup from blue collection boxes will be completed by noon on Monday, including those boxes where regular pickups are usually made later in the day. Self-service kiosks in a dozen post office branch lobbies in Erie and Niagara counties will be accessible round-the-clock.
All post offices will be closed on Tuesday, Christmas Day, and only Express Mail will be delivered. Regular service and mail delivery resume Wednesday.
