A free workshop on the risks of radon gas will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the South Buffalo office of Neighborhood Housing Services, 1937 South Park Ave.
Frank Scarpinato, Erie County’s environmental educator, will give a presentation on the dangers of radon gas in homes. The average level of the radioactive gas in Erie County homes is 5.36 picocuries per liter. Anything above 4 picocuries is considered high. All attending the workshop will receive a free home radon testing kit.
