PERRYSBURG – Police suspect a Jamestown man was trying to become the latest metal scrapper at the former J.N. Adams grounds on Thursday.

But before he could get away with the metal, police said, Michael J. Anderson tipped authorities off with his illegally parked car.

Anderson, 40, was arrested at 6:30 a.m. on Peck Hill Road with tools commonly used for metal scrapping, police said. Authorities received a report of an illegally parked car on Lincoln Avenue hindering a town snowplow.

Police charged the Jamestown man with trespassing, marijuana possession, possession of burglar tools and traffic charges. He was released on appearance tickets and will appear at 6 p.m. Jan. 10 in Perrysburg Town Court.
