City extends splash pad hours

In response to high temperatures, the city has extended hours for splash pads and a pool, and opened cooling centers through Wednesday.

The city’s 11 splash pads will close at 8 p.m. tonight, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Pools are open normal hours, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., except for Centennial Pool in LaSalle Park, which is open until 8 p.m. tonight, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Three air-conditioned cooling centers are also open through Wednesday:

• Richmond/Summer Senior Citizens Center, 337 Summer St., 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Schiller Park Senior Center, 2057 Genesee St., 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• CRUCIAL, 230 Moselle St., 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
