NORTH TONAWANDA – Local attorney Joshua E. Dubs, of Fairmont Avenue, has announced he will seek the position of North Tonawanda city attorney.

“Public service is the highest calling for an attorney,” he said. “I look forward to the opportunity to combine my love of service and my dedication to the law to the city I call home.”

Dubs graduated from Union College in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in history. He graduated with his law degree in 2008 from University at Buffalo Law School and then opened a practice based in Buffalo, serving clients in a wide range of areas, including real estate, probate, civil litigation and criminal defense.

Dubs is a registered Democrat and previously ran for Common Council under the Democratic Party and the Lumberjack Party and was the endorsed candidate for the Working Families Party.

He is an active member of several bar associations, including the bar associations of both Erie and Niagara counties, the Tonawandas and the New York Bar Association. In November 2012, he was recognized by the Volunteer Lawyer’s Project with their VIP Award, which is given to a local attorney who shows special dedication to pro bono legal service. He has been a major fundraiser in the past four years for the annual Ride for Roswell, to benefit Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

Dubs’ wife, Lauren, is a pharmacist with Rite Aid Pharmacy. In his spare time he enjoys writing, playing golf, cycling and cooking.
