BATAVIA –Two Genesee Community College staff members resigned this week after having been charged with crimes.
Renee A. Smith, 28, of Livonia, who coached the women’s softball team, is accused of felonies in double dipping among three jobs by the New York State Inspector General. Smith also was working as a part-time basketball coach at the Livonia Central School, and as a recreational therapist with a disability office, thus taking money from the state.
Michael Stoll, 66, of Bergen came out of retirement at the college after more than 40 years to serve as interim vice-president for academic affairs. He is charged with public lewdness, a misdemeanor, at a Monroe County park.
Both submitted resignations immediately after the arrests were made.
