The poems of Emily Dickinson will get a marathon airing in Buffalo on Saturday.

The daylong reading of the entire oeuvre of the 19th century American poet – that’s nearly 2,000 poems in all – will start at 8 a.m. place in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 724 Delaware Ave.

The reading is expected to last 14 hours, including some musical breaks, and will wrap up around 10 p.m., organizers said.

It is offered to showcase National Poetry Month.

The reading, which is free, is being presented by the UB English Department, Just Buffalo Literary Center, and community members.

Some “celebrity readers” will be among those doing readings and members of the public also will have a chance to read a poem.

Refreshments in the form of “black cake,” a molassed-based delicacy that Dickinson enjoyed, will be served, until supplies run out.
