Time Warner Cable has restored service to roughly 2,000 homes after a 24-hour outage that began Saturday morning.
A transformer fire caused a National Grid utility pole to fall over on Seneca Street, sending the pole slicing through a fiber optic cable, Time Warner said.
Customers throughout the East Side of Buffalo were without Internet, telephone and cable TV services from 11 a.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday.
“Crews were out working on it for about 24 hours,” said Joli Plucknette-Farmen, a spokeswoman for Time Warner Cable.
