Rain or snow headed our way on Tuesday

Meteorologists at the National Weather Service office in Buffalo are keeping a close eye on a weather system headed to the Buffalo Niagara region that will either bring rain or snow our way.

“It’s a trick forecast for tomorrow night and into the work week,” said meteorologist Dave Thomas.

A change in a temperature of just one degree Tuesday night will mean the difference between a soggy rain and “very wet snow,” he said.

If turns to snow, Thomas said, the Buffalo area can expect a “moderate” amount. Southeast of the city, snow totals are expected to be heavier.

Right now, weather watchers aren’t expecting any major problems but Thomas urged anyone who expects to be traveling Tuesday and Wednesday to keep tabs on weather reports.
