MAYVILLE – The snowmobile trails and winter amenities of Chautauqua County will be featured in an upcoming issue of Snow Goer magazine following the recent visit of David Wells, one of the magazine’s contributing editors, County Executive Greg Edwards reports.
“David seemed very impressed with our trails and he was able to cover a lot of ground during his 3½-day visit, enjoying nearly 300 miles of snowmobile trails,” Edwards said.
Five to 10 riders from local snowmobile clubs, including County Legislator Fred Croscut, R-Sherman, joined Wells and his photographer each day.
The county has 450 miles of groomed trails, open from late December to late March, which are maintained by five snowmobile clubs. Trailheads are near service stations, restaurants and other accommodations. Snowmobiling information is available at www.tourchautauqua.com or by calling toll-free (866) 908-4569.
