Gunfire erupted twice this morning, several blocks apart, on the East Side. When the shooting stopped, a 30-year-old man had suffered an arm injury.

The victim, whose name was not released, was shot about 10:30 a.m. while driving a car at Moselle Street, near McKibben Street, Buffalo police said. The man sped away from the scene and was shot at again a short time later on Schuele Street as he was nearing the Scajaquada Expressway.

Police said the man was in stable condition tonight at Erie County Medical Center.

City officials, angered that such daylight gunfire endangered innocent bystanders, urged witnesses to come forward with information about the incidents and the shooters.

Police asked anyone with information to call or text their confidential tip line at 847-2255 or leave information on their website, www.bpdny.org.
